Every year, preceding the Infographics World Summit it takes place the professional workshop “Show Don’t Tell!”. The workshop, conducted in English, runs for three days from Sunday to Wednesday and normally has from 20 to 25 participants. The aim of the sessions is to enhance the conceptualization of infographics, their planning and the reporting, as well as fostering teamwork, above the final product itself. Participants work in teams on the projects surpervised by the instructors and give a presentation at the end of each hands on exercise.

Since 2004 the “Show, Don’t Tell!” workshop brings together the worlds of print, digital and multimedia. The workshop is led by four instructors of notable international prestige: Alberto Cairo, John Grimwade, Geoff McGhee and Juan Velasco, who in addition to personally supervising the practical exercises, also give several instructional sessions.

In recent years, the participants of “Show, Don’t Tell!” have carried out workshop exercises on various locations near Pamplona. These include: the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, the Marqués de Riscal winery, in Logrono, La Rioja, which was also designed by Frank Gehry, the Chillida-leku Museum of San Sebastián, the Castle of Javier, the Itoiz Dam and Navarra Canal, the MTorres Engineering Company, the University Clinic of Navarra and the medieval walls of Pamplona.

El taller para profesionales Show Don’t Tell! antecede cada año a la Cumbre Mundial de Infografía. Se desarrolla en inglés durante tres días, de domingo a miércoles, y reúne de 20 a 25 participantes. Pretende, por encima de todo, potenciar la conceptualización de los gráficos, la planificación, su reporteo y el trabajo en equipo por encima de su realización final. En equipo se realizan cada año los trabajos planeados por los instructores y en equipo se hacen las presentaciones al término de cada ejercicio práctico.

Desde 2004 el taller Show Don’t Tell! combina el mundo impreso con el digital y multimedia. Está dirigido por cuatro instructores de enorme prestigio internacional: Alberto Cairo, John Grimwade, Geoff McGhee y Juan Velasco, que además de supervisar personalmente el desarrollo de los ejercicios ofrecen también varias sesiones expositivas.

En los últimos años los participantes del taller Show Don’t Tell! han desarrollado ejercicios en diversas localizaciones próximas a Pamplona. Entre ellas, el Museo Guggenheim de Bilbao; la bodega Marqués de Riscal, obra también de Frank Gehry, en Elciego, La Rioja; el Museo Chillida-leku de San Sebastián; el Castillo de Javier; el embalse de Itoiz y el Canal de Navarra; la empresa de ingeniería MTorres; la Clínica Universidad de Navarra; o las Murallas medievales de Pamplona.
